Trol
Massive brute strength. Towering over others but slow to react.
The Trol is the hauling and smashing race. It starts as the answer to Valheim's inventory weight problem and ends with you at two and a half times normal size, ripping a tree out of the ground and using it as a two-handed weapon.
Base kit (tier 1)
- 20% larger than a human, natively.
- +200 max carry weight.
- +3 armour per boss defeated, scaling continuously with your tier.
- Physical kills automatically consume edible enemies.

Mechanics worth knowing
Carry weight
By the Yagluth tier you are carrying +300 over baseline before any gear, belts or buffs. Mining runs stop being round trips, and building projects stop being logistics puzzles. For a lot of players this alone is why they pick the race.
Rock Throwing (The Elder)
Hurl a boulder for heavy physical damage. It scales with your tier: +10 at Bonemass, +5 more at Yagluth. Because it is physical rather than elemental it stays relevant deep into the game, and it gives the Trol the ranged option the rest of its kit lacks.
Stomach slots
The Trol is the only race that gets more normal food slots rather than a different diet.
| Tier | Slots |
|---|---|
| Base | 3 |
| Bonemass | 4 |
| Yagluth | 5 |
Five simultaneous foods is a very large effective health and stamina pool, and it stacks with everything else the race does.
True Form (Moder)
Transform into your true Trol shape. On its own it is a size and power increase. At The Queen tier it becomes considerably more: True Form size jumps to 2.5×, and the Log Weapon unlocks.
Log Weapon (The Queen)
While in True Form, look at a tree and interact with it to rip a log straight out of it and wield it as a massive two-handed weapon. You can also throw it.
At the Fader tier those wielded trees smash instantly through the toughest materials in the Ashlands, which turns the ability from a novelty into a genuine traversal and mining tool.
Skill XP
The Eikthyr tier boosts XP for the skills the race actually uses — Clubs, Unarmed, Axes, Pickaxes and WoodCutting. It is a labour-and-blunt package, not a general multiplier, and it lines up exactly with what a Trol build wants to be doing anyway.
